Video: Talking dreams on The Today Show
I was on The Today Show (Nine, national television) yesterday, talking about recurring dreams with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson, who each shared their recurring dreams. The Today Show posted the upcoming segment to their Facebook page, asking for dreams for me to interpret on air. Over 290 dreams were submitted, showing yet again how fascinated people are by their dreams. (Update: video no longer available.)

Spellbound
“I bet you get this all the time,” said the sales assistant helping me choose a new skirt yesterday, “but what do those dreams mean where you are trying to walk but your feet are heavy and it’s all so slow? I keep having that dream.” “You probably have the dream when you feel you’re not making fast enough progress in some area of your life, when it feels too hard, too heavy, too slow,”

Dream interpretation: choosing a dream
“How do I know which dream to start with?” emailed Tim, eager to begin applying some of my techniques. Tim remembers four or five dreams a night, and realises that working in depth with one dream a day would be too much. “I was hoping you might answer my question in a blog,” she said. When was the last time you worked deeply with a dream? If it’s been a while, or if you’re a

When affirmations and visualisations fail
How many times have you set an intention and created an affirmation or visualisation to guide its manifestation, only to fail or even magnify the problem? Here’s a simple example. You decide it’s time to get serious about losing some weight. You decide to do this by changing to a healthier diet. It’s all quite clear to you: you know what you want to achieve (lose some weight), and you know how to do it

Teaching school students how to understand their dreams
What did you learn about dreams and nightmares when you were at school? Nothing, I’ll bet. Can you remember some of the dreams that puzzled, worried, or frightened you as a young child and as a young adult? Did you talk about them? Was anyone able to help ease your mind, and give you practical tips on how to look into your dreams for clues about how to better handle life’s challenges? I wish I

Paula Abdul’s dream
I was talking with Paula Abdul and Ita Buttrose on Studio 10 this morning about their dreams and what they mean, as well as looking at some common dream themes. What’s Paula’s recurring dream? What was Ita’s epic dream all about? Watch video

Perfect but for one little thing
Three ideas for today’s blog jostled in my head, but which to choose? It was one of those perfect mornings, just back from yoga, sipping coffee in a garden still wet from overnight rain, a balmy breeze, birds chirping happily as they flitted through the trees feasting on the array of delicacies rain brings, just perfect except for one little thing – a housefly determined to settle on my hand, my arm, my leg. “Shoo

Dreamvolution – help with facing change
When life presents you with change, how do you usually respond? Do you resist, hanging on to the way you have always done things, sticking to the routines and habits that have always worked for you? Or do you jump right in, eager for something new, tossing the old way aside without so much as a fond farewell? When was the last time you were faced with an unexpected major change? What was it: a

Something old, something new
“I met a completely new person in my dream, yet he felt so familiar. I must have created him, the details of his face and body, his clothing, but why that feeling of knowing him so well?” It was my birthday earlier this week, and we were out celebrating when we bumped into a friend, Dee, who introduced her friend, Mark, and mentioned my work with dreams. “How odd to meet you today,” he said.

Chicken Licken
Chicken Licken was one of my favourite stories when I was three or four years old. I’m sure you know it. An acorn fell on Chicken Licken’s head as he was scouring the earth looking for food one day. Horrified he set off to tell the Queen the sky was falling. On the way he met Henny Penny, then Turkey Lurkey and so on. Like any child with a favourite story, I wanted to hear
