My guest, Developmental Editor, Screenwriter, and Podcaster, Julie Rogers, shares a series of flying dreams that evolved throughout her life, including one where she flew with her cat. Then she asks about a more recent dream where her father refurbished the houseboat they loved visiting during her childhood. Only this time, it was in a museum, not on the water. What does it mean? Listen as we explore and discover.
Based in Arkansas, USA, Julie is an SMU ballet and journalism graduate who first wrote for area newspapers and News of East Texas magazine.
She later wrote and staged theatre productions including her award-winning comedy, “Garage Sale.” While teaching at RMCC Radio/TV, Julie collaborated on screenplays and indie films under the management of the late Jeff Ross. She shot and produced short films, including a Hot Wheels “Beat That” competition video.
Julie’s “House Call,” a Writer’s Digest 1999 Grand Prize winner, was acquired for publication by William J. Grabowski, reviewer for The Horror Show magazine.
Julie has seven published books, and works as a developmental editor for The Authors’ Assistant. She hosts the Write Now podcast for the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow, a writers’ retreat in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Her latest novel, Falling Stars, set in Eureka, is the recipient of sixteen awards, including a Kirkus Reviews “Get It” accolade.
Join us as we explore and interpret Julie’s dreams before we flow into our conversation about her life and work.
