Episode 253 The Dream Show: Trapped birds and snakes

Episode 253 The Dream Show Jane Teresa Anderson

Tas, from Melbourne, Australia, is my guest asking about her dream of discovering wildlife trapped in her house.

Tas is about to move interstate, back into her old house in Sydney, which she has rented out for many years while travelling with her career.

In her dream, she and her sister arrive at the Sydney house ahead of her furniture. When she opens the door, she is shocked when colourful rosellas fly out and up into the air. As they venture inside, they are scared to encounter insects, spiders, and snakes.

There’s more to this unexpected wildlife sanctuary discovery, as you’ll hear when Tas shares her dream and we explore it to find out what it means, how it relates to her life, and what wonderful insights she can take forward.

I thought it was an interesting question that Teresa had for Tas about the behavior of the birds and if they were attacking birds. I have Australian friends so I am familiar with Butcherbirds, tendency to attack humans to protect nests and Magpie swooping season. Not that bird attacks are unique to Australia, but maybe regarded more as an oddity in the US or something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. So in some areas the birds would be assumed to be docile and pleasant and it would be the snakes one has to be worried about.

Thank you for your comment, Brooke. You’re quite right: I’d be much more worried about being attacked by a snake than by a docile lorikeet/parrot. There was something about the way the birds flew out of the house that prompted the question. It was such a colourful dream to explore, wasn’t it?
